Heather Cronemiller MA, LICSW, CSAT

I’ve been right where you are, desperate for help and unsure where to turn. I felt crazy and alone until I found people who “got it”. I found that there was even a term to describe what I had been dealing with—it was called love addiction. I wasn’t crazy, I wasn’t broken, and there was a path to hope and healing. The same is true for you, too.

I’ve been in recovery from love addiction for over six years now, and I am honored to have the opportunity to support others who are sick of feeling like there is a war inside their heads. I bring the same strategies I used to regain control of my life and relationships to my work with my clients. I can show up in my life the way I choose to, as the wife, mother, therapist, and friend I want to be.

I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and have gained a wealth of knowledge throughout that time. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), which means that I have been trained in the Gold Standard techniques for the treatment of love addiction, porn addiction, and sex addiction. I am also the co-author of the book, Going Deeper for Women: How Your Inner Child Impacts Your Love and Sex Addiction, as well as the corresponding workbook, alongside Dr. Eddie Capparucci and Lacy Bentley.

When I’m not working, I am out taking care of my farm animal friends at Farmaste Animal Sanctuary in Lindstrom, MN, playing board games with my husband and kids, chatting with friends, or out exploring in the woods.

Meet Our Clinical Partners

At Cronemiller Counseling, we recognize that overcoming sexual addiction, betrayal trauma, and couples’ recovery from betrayal requires a specialized and highly attuned approach. Healing is a complex, deeply personal process that demands expertise, collaboration, and ethical integrity. That’s why we’ve assembled an outstanding team of clinicians, each holding advanced certifications and sharing a deep commitment to supporting individuals and couples on their path to healing and growth.

Why Work with Certified Specialists?

Therapy for sexual addiction, betrayal trauma, and couples’ recovery from betrayal is a highly intricate area of mental health that requires advanced training and specialized certification. At Cronemiller Counseling, we take pride in holding the most respected credentials in the field, including CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist), CPTT (Certified Partner Trauma Therapist), and the upcoming CCBRT (Couples Certified Betrayal Recovery Therapist).

These prestigious certifications, considered the gold standard in the profession, involve extensive training, clinical experience, and supervised practice. A prime example of this expertise is the Full Formal Disclosure—a vital aspect of betrayal trauma recovery. This structured, multi-faceted healing process is exclusive to IITAP (International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals) and can only be facilitated ethically and effectively by certified CSATs and CPTTs.
